Boat Insurance Definitions beginning with - 'J'

Jaws

  • No mention of Hollywood hokum here! These are the fittings either side of the mast that house a gaff or boom.

Jet water boat

  • An insured boat that is driven by an engine that creates it propulsion through use of a powerful water pump.

Jib

  • A jib is just simply the front-most sail.

Judgment

  • A judgement is the ultimate court decision determining fault or liability. A subsequent court order is usually then issued instructing one party to recompense another party a certain amount of money.
