2012 Boat Insurance Policy Option Changes

A Happy New year to all Mercia Marine customers! Here is news with regards to changes to our insurance product range that will be coming online very soon (expected by the end of January).

Mediterranean RIB and Speedboat Insurance Those with RIBs or speedboats based in the Mediterranean will so be able to go on cover via our website. Just fill out a standard quotation and you will find additional options available to you.  Marina berths allow for RIBs and Speedboats Again our online policies will also enable those wishing to buy RIB insurance or speedboat insurance to be able moor in a marina (previously only ashore was immediately allowed to be purchased online). This will speed up your ability to take out cover. Increased excess discounts However, we will shortly be offering increased excess discounts for those wanting cheaper quotes who are satisfied they are of low risk of a claim. Also we will soon be able to offer our boating customers a travel insurance option in addition to our pre-existing contents insurance product, watch this space! Breakdown cover We will shortly be removing our breakdown cover options from our policies after some very significant prices increases passed on to us by our third party suppliers, we did not think our customers would appreciate these so have decided unfortunately to withdraw these products for the time being. Lapsed policies Those forgetting to complete their boat insurance renewal in time will be able to rapidly refresh their lapsed policy online and re-gain their boat insurance cover.
